If this is your first time checking out my blog, a little back story is probably helpful.We planted a church in Richmond, Virginia using a more missional, decentralized structure for church planting that’s proven incredibly significant in Europe, but is very new to North America. This community then planted another church in Denver, CO using the same DNA. I now am the Director of Content and Communications for 3DM, a training organization for leaders/churches who want their communities to embody this way of being the church. I still regularly coach and train church planters and am working with a group of people on re-imagining what church planter training will look like in the future. Grace + Peace to you.

Hey Doug! Great blog. I just recently ran into 3DM while researching more missionally minded church planters. I love the values and mission they have and am in the process of researching those on the ground. I will be planting in Northern VA/Arlington next spring. I would love to drive down to Richmond to see what you all have going on. I need to absorb as much knowledge, info, and experience form others as a I can.

Hi Doug,
I tried to send this to you through your contact page but it came back to me undeliverable. I’m planting a church in Ann Arbor, MI. From the beginning our goal has been to launch a more missional expression of the church in this city. I’m reading “Launching Missional Communities” now and found your blog. 2 questions: (1) What advice do you have for a new guy that’s just getting rolling? (2) Do you know of a community in SE Michigan that launched with a more missional focus that I could visit and learn from?
